When progesterone levels in a female starts to decline, thinning of the hair on the scalp starts to become noticeable. Hair loss in women may also be caused by low thyroid function, stress, dermatologic problems or it can be inheredited.
When there are low levels of progesterone in the female body, the female body will increase production of adrenal cortical hormones to make up for this low progesterone. Unfortunately, these cortical hormones give off male-like properties. When women reach menopause, their testosterone combines with an enzyme called 5 alpha reductase to create "DHT". This "DHT" is not good and it is believed to be responsible for balding or thinning hair in women as well as men.
When women lose hair it is a little different from hair loss in men. We call the difference : " male patterned baldness" and "female patterned baldness". Usually most women do not get "bald spots" and the thinning or loss of hair is more diffuse all over the head.
I know that thinning and losing hair can make one very anxious and depressed, and even make you feel like you are not the female you once were. I suggest the use of Progesterone ( Progonol or Progon B or Bio-Identical ( blue label are good choices ) to reverse the low levels of Progesterone in your system and help counter the DHT that is the culprit!!!.
Anemia is a major cause that can lead to hair loss. If you lose a drastic amount of weight in a short period of time by crash dieting and you will find your hair dropping more than is acceptable. Or, even just imbalanced meals can lead to deficiencies in women especially due to the loss of blood during menstruation.
You may think a few iron tablets may do the trick to get rid of anemia. But did you know that iron deficiency anemia (although most common) is not the only kind that exists? Anemia may arise from a deficiency in copper or vitamin B12 too. There are several food items that can help you build these up.
Healthy eating and a good fitness program can cure most of your mental and physical problems. But really, more than nutrition deficiencies, stressing yourself out can help you lose hair (and lots of it!). Besides this, there are umpteen number of causes leading to hair loss. Prolonged illness, severe infections, certain medications etc. can really attack you and cause hair loss.
If you are suffering from hair loss, it is time to discover exactly the cause. Consuming iron-rich foods when what you actually need is protein will only result in disappointment. For most younger women, thinning hair is caused by incomplete protein digestion as a result of insufficient stomach acid and pepsin production.
Poor protein digestion results in low levels of essential amino acids and essential minerals. Without sufficient essential amino acids, hair starts to thin out. The problem can be stopped by supplementation with hydrochloric acid-pepsin capsules with meals, as well as with individualized essential amino acid and mineral supplements.
Birth control pills and pregnancy can occasionally cause hair loss, too. B-complex vitamins – especially folate and Vitamin B6 -- will reverse this effect.....
and remember you can check your teststerone level ( tests available right here on this website and if it is elevated take 2 Isocort in the morning and 2 Isocort in the evening may be helpful!!!!!
